Irish soprano Grace Bermingham graduated with an MA in Opera Performance from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. During her time at the RWCMD she has appeared in masterclasses as part of Cardiff Singer of the World, concerts with the college chorus and recitals. Grace was chosen to represent the RWCMD at the Wigmore Hall Masterclass Series in London.
Opera scene performances include Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro), First Lady (Magic Flute), Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Gretel (Hansel & Gretel) and La Fortuna (L'incoronazione di Poppea) and the roles Cis (Albert Herring) and Owl (The Cunning Little Vixen) for the RWCMD and Welsh National Youth Opera. During her studies she was kindly supported by the Iris O'Brien Foundation, The Arts Council of Ireland and the RWCMD Leverhulme Trust.
Equally comfortable on the oratorio platform, Grace has featured as a soloist in works such as Handel’s Messiah, Bach’s Magnificat, St. Matthew Passion, Fauré’s Requiem, Brahms Requiem, Haydn’s Nelson Mass, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Mozart Requiem and Coronation Mass.
Grace has performed both operatic and concert performances with Wide Open Opera, Lyric Opera , Friends of Welsh National Opera , Clonter Opera , former Opera Theatre Company and most recently the Irish Embassy in Sweden.
She has also performed in several public performances including showcases and concerts in Ireland, Sweden, France and the UK.
In 2019 , Grace was invited to perform a recital for HM King Carl XVI Gustaf and HM Queen Silvia of Sweden. Later that year, Grace performed in Nineweeks as part of the Dublin Fringe Festival . The show received five stars from The Irish Times.
Grace is an alumna of Opera Theatre Company's Young Associate Artist Programme.
